Portal and intranet for a Kansas City construction company (about 800 employees)

The challenge: Staff exported data from several systems and pasted it into Word documents for executive briefings. Files sat on an on-premises file share, and the company wanted one branded portal that connected to its other systems.

What we built: A SharePoint Online portal and intranet with Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI:

  • A move from the on-premises file share to SharePoint, with files still working like local files
  • A branded home page and sites for 10 departments
  • A live connection to the company’s construction management system, so the apps and dashboards stay current
  • A people directory that updates automatically with new hires, employee locations and current projects
  • Power Apps forms for change requests, new projects and project exceptions, with automated approvals
  • Project search with printable reports, and Power BI dashboards

The result: Executive briefings now come straight from live data, without copying and pasting, and staff find project information in one place.

Online forms and approvals for a Kansas City professional sports team

The challenge: Day-to-day requests across the business ran on paper and email: contracts, staff badges, merchandise, visitors, event space, checks and invoices. Approvals were slow and hard to track.

What we built: Online forms and automated approval workflows in SharePoint Online, built with Power Apps:

  • Business contract approvals
  • Badge, visitor and event space requests
  • Merchandise requests
  • Finance forms for check requests, invoice requests, petty cash, foundation checks and unbudgeted capital requests

The result: Requests are submitted online and routed to the right approvers automatically, so staff can see where each one stands.
